Children, Youth & Families

Nurturing from the Start

Good beginnings and promising futures start in South County's child care programs and are enhanced with programs designed to give parents the skills needed to help their children succeed through all their formative years. Our goal is to impact positively on all facets of a child’s life: early childhood education and development, mental and physical health, safety, nutrition, family life and parenting.

Family Care Community Partnership (FCCP)

A comprehensive program of care involving multiple partnerships throughout Washington and Kent Counties designated to assist families who are at risk of DCYF involvement. Services vary from single need, such as energy assistance or parent skills training, to intensive multi-service care plans. Plans are designed by case workers and family members to ensure a client-focused choice in the services delivered. Children may be referred from DCYF Child Protective Services; children at risk for child abuse, neglect or DCYF intervention; children birth to age 18 with serious emotional disturbances; children leaving temporary community placement; children at risk of foster placement; children at-risk or involved with Juvenile Justice.
